Alvarado ISD Education Foundation
Created on WordPress 4.5.4 and built with the Assets mobile-responsive theme for WordPress, the Alvarado ISD Education Foundation’s website is simple and straightforward. We wanted to give it a warm yet no-nonsense identity, which we accomplished by using several photos of classroom scenes with children and flat icons, balanced by a predominantly white palette with dark accents.
This is a one-page website, which features the organization’s background, services, mission, contact and social media details, and newsletter opt-in. Since it’s a non-profit enterprise, we also included a large section that invites visitors to become volunteers and financial sponsors.
The entire website has only a few sections, and clicking on each item on the Main Menu scrolls down to its respective section on the page. The website’s point is to a) encourage more visitors to donate to the project, and b) generate more interested leads.
To help accomplish the first objective without being too in-your-face about it, we placed a small message at the upper left corner of the page: “We would like for you to…” followed by a Donate button. Under that in the Main Menu, we also placed a Donation button that sets it apart from the other menu items. This button takes you straight down to the donation form.
As for generating leads, we placed the newsletter opt-in field at center of the footer.
